Show Notes:
Jane Hogan’s personal experience with the crippling pain of rheumatoid arthritis, together with a sense that lasting relief lay in natural solutions inspired her to leave behind her 30-year engineering career and become a Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach, Certified Yoga Teacher, and wellness educator. She became her own patient and is now applying the lessons she learned and discoveries she made to help thousands recover from chronic pain. Jane is a frequent host and featured guest on popular podcasts and at summits as well as a contributing author of three best-selling books.
Jane joined Bioenergetics Beat Host Heather Gray to discuss key elements of her approach, stressing the need for patience and one-step-at-a-time. She starts with diet, and moving on from there reminds us that pain tells us that something is wrong. At this point, discovering the true source of the pain is a personal journey that takes us through memories of past experiences. The body is energy, and pain occurs when energy is disrupted; perhaps by an old injury or a stored thought or memory. Among many tips on things to try, Jane describes “Journaling” as writing down feelings of frustration and any as they would be said out loud, and then tearing up the notes. Given the body’s innate healing power, it’s important to celebrate and encourage it with positive thoughts.
