Dr. Aimie Apigian is a leading expert on the effect of trauma on our biology and how it can lead to a chronic health condition. A certified Preventive and Addiction Medicine Physician with double Master’s degrees in biochemistry and public health, Aimie has set her path on finding solutions that go beyond traditional therapies to discover root causes. She hosts a podcast, a YouTube channel, and online Summits working closely with experts in the health and trauma space. She speaks around the world, leads groups through her programs to address stored trauma in the body, and teaches practitioners in her Biology of Trauma online training.

In conversation with Bioenergetics Beat Host Heather Gray, Dr. Apigian references her personal experience with her foster child and a long and difficult journey of discovery in her efforts to overcome his early childhood trauma. She focuses on the role of tissue in treating trauma; working with the specialized cluster of cells tasked with stimulating muscle contraction, providing awareness of the environment, and factoring in emotions, memory, and reasoning.
